At long last, the first photos of our July Greenhouse Wedding are now available for your viewing pleasure!
After months of work, my vision of a romantic greenhouse/garden wedding finally came to life! The handmade rose and hydrangea bouquets, the vintage silver serveware, the oh-so-chic gold accents--I couldn't have asked for a prettier DIY wedding!
I'm working on a post now which details all of the tips and tricks I learned while planning the wedding, but here's a little preview. I purchased all of the table linens for less than the cost to rent them locally, I borrowed everything from silverware to the gold framed chalkboard sign that I used for the seating arrangement, and I DIY'd A LOT (including the bouquets!). Let me tell you, nothing is stopping you from creating a fairytale wedding on a meager budget :).
I have to admit, this day did NOT go off without a hitch. Murphy's Law was determined to make its presence known. Between a makeup snaffu, cranky (tired) kids, running behind schedule, and some very intoxicated party guests, there was enough chaos to keep my blood pressure measuring on par with Old Faithful for most of the day. But now that the wedding day drama is behind me, I'm so pleased with the outcome. I mean, we made this wedding happen with less than $3,000, you guys! I'm pretty proud of myself :).
I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the job our photographer, Jenn, did capturing our big day. She is such a talent! Check her out at http://spottedstills.blogspot.com/!
