Being in a group for moms of toddlers also means that every few months we are celebrating the arrival of a sweet new baby! I love that I get to snuggle brand new babes in all their squishy newness (even more now that my girls are three and four!) I also love that I have an excuse to put on my party planning hat (err, yoga pants) and throw a little celebration every time we welcome a new tot to the group. The most recent fete was a sip and see brunch in honor of sweet baby Quinn :).
For this sip and see, I kept it simple. The star of the show (aside from baby Quinn, of course!) were the paper flowers I made for the buffet table backdrop. They were a labor of love, but so worth the effort! In fact, I think I'll reuse them for Leah's next birthday party (the theme is Enchanted Forest--it's going to be AMAZING!!) Anyway, you can use this tutorial to put together your own giant paper flowers. After the first few flowers, I had gotten the hang of it and tried a few different variations just to add some texture. If you decide to make these paper flowers at home, I suggest using a high quality cardstock (I bought mine in bulk and on sale at Michael's) so that the paper holds its shape when you curl it. I also used tape to secure my petals together, but hot glue or craft glue would probably have worked as well.
That's all for today, friends! I hope you've found some inspiration for your next soiree and, as always, happy planning!
