Hello again, friends! It's great to be back after taking a hiatus for the past few months. And even though I haven't been blogging, I've been busy with lots of parties and projects which I can't wait to share with you!
Recently, I had the opportunity to throw a DOUBLE baby shower for two girlfriends of mine who were both having boys, and what's more boy-ish than the great outdoors?! This camping-themed shower was one of my favorite events to style; from the birch bark paper straws to the handmade woodland animal masks to the s'mores cupcakes, the love was in the details!
Another thing I loved about this party is how inexpensively I was able to bring everything together. Because the location was a local park which was conveniently nestled in the middle of a forest, no backdrops or balloons were needed. As you can see in the photos, nature provided the perfect canvas for this outdoorsy shower! And because this was a family-friendly shower, the park provided all kinds of outdoor adventures for the kids as well.
The birch bark paper straws, Schleich animal figures for the cake and the cool vintage camping lantern were all purchased on Amazon.com. And I, of course, brought out my trusty beaded ceramic cake stand from Target for the party! (Best $20 I've ever spent!) The woodland masks were made from patterns I drew onto cardstock, then traced onto felt and hot glued together with some elastic around the back. I'm working on scanning the patterns so that I can post them all here for you guys!
All in all, I'd say this baby shower was a smashing success! Stay tuned for a post about another shower I hosted recently. HINT: The theme is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! :) Bye for now!
