I was a bit worried about making the scalloped ombre tablecloth, but I love how it turned out! To get the "ocean waves" look, I purchased four plastic tablecloths in varying shades of blue and layered them on top of each other on the table over a floor-drape white linen tablecloth. I left the dark navy one at the bottom flat, and then cut scallops into the rest. Make sure you secure each layer as you go to prevent things from getting wonky! I used clear packing tape on the sides of the table to hold everything in place.
I usually base my food choices for a party on whatever fits within a color palette, but this time I wanted to try a few sea-themed snacks! The sand dollar snickerdoodles were a big hit, as were the crab croissant sandwiches. The jello I had a harder time with. Note: It's really hard to get fruit snacks to "float" in jello without it turning into a curdled-looking mess!
For activities we had coloring pages, a Hank ring toss, and a bubble station. Thankfully, the rain let up and we were able to send the kids outdoors to play at the playground for a bit, too!
