Because baby's nursery is woodland-themed, we decided to continue the theme for the shower and get multiple uses out of some of the decorations. The birch tree rounds that we used in lieu of serving trays on the dessert table went in the nursery under the lamps, the wood crate under the glassware was re-purposed as blanket storage, and the signs and stuffed animals on the party favor table transferred seamlessly into the nursery as decor.
I created the shower invitations on my iPad, along with inserts for guests to "Bring a book instead of a card", and coordinating banners and baby shower game cards. You can find all of the items in my Etsy shop, Little Lemon Design Co., here!
The shower started at noon, so we offered sandwiches, snacks, and iced tea for lunch followed by cheesecake with berries and chocolate peanut butter Oreo truffles for dessert. Shout-out to my mom for staying up til the wee hours shaping the truffles into the most perfect little acorns! Aren't they darling?!
For party favors, we cut homemade soap logs into bricks and wrapped with kraft paper, then tied with jute string. The variety of scents turned out to be a big hit, and it was a cost effective favor option (cost-effectiveness was key, as we had about forty guests!)
All in all, I'd say the shower was a huge success! The decorations were darling, the food was delish, everyone had a good time and baby Alistair's nursery is now stocked with goodies and ready for his arrival :).
Thanks for stopping by, and as always, happy party planning!
