Hey, guys! This post has been a LONG time coming! In fact, I've decorated and re-decorated the girls' playroom several times since I started this blog. So now that I have it all just right, it's about time I share the details with you!
My favorite part of the playroom is this cube storage wall. This room happens to be just the right size for three 9-cube storage units flush against one wall (I love it when things work out like that!) I purchased these at Target for about $40 per unit, then had my husband anchor them to the wall to ward off little climbers :).
The Skip Hop Zoo storage bins are another favorite of mine. Aside from being adorable, they fit perfectly into the cubes. And bonus, they were only $12.99! I purchased them at Target as well, but they're also available through Skip Hop's website. These things have held up for over three years, through smashed bananas, marker, and toddlers trying to squeeze inside them like cats in cardboard box. Talk about durable! I only wish Skip Hop made them in more designs.
To decorate the wall, I placed simple art prints in mismatched frames. My favorite is the wild thing silhouette from "Where the Wild Things Are." :)
I made the stars on the wall from a craft punch and silver Cricut peel and stick vinyl. Both are available at Michael's craft store, and I even got them on sale--woot! One roll (12"x48") was just the right amount for this project, so my total cost was about $15.
And here's the market that my husband and I made for the girls almost three years ago, still going strong! You can view my DIY instructions to make your own market here.
I made all the food in the market from felt, and most of it has held up well over the years as well! For those of you who've asked how I made them, I'm working on tutorials for the felt food now :). I hope to have them up this month!
Last order of business: the dress up corner! Because our playroom is actually the "den" in our house, the door to the garage opens right into a little tiled area just inside the playroom. I wanted to make use of the wall space here, so I hung these modern cloud cutout wooden pieces from Hobby Lobby and voila! Dress up storage! The girls use one of their Skip Hop bins for loose dress up accessories like shoes and jewelry, but I love having this space for hanging up dresses, feather boas and fairy wings :).
