I kept the color scheme from the girls' room at our old house so that I could carry over a lot of pieces instead of starting from scratch, but I added some gray and navy blue as well. The navy added a really cool contrast to the lighter colors, and made the room look a little bit older, I think.
Because we lost our playroom when we downsized, I've had to re-think toy storage in our new place. That required some creativity when it came time to mesh some of the items that were in our old playroom with the vastly different color palette of the girls' bedroom. I started with a dollhouse renovation, which you can see here. We also purchased a new play kitchen, which is absolutely DARLING. It's the Urban Adventure Play Kitchen by Teamson, which I purchased on Amazon. Tons of storage space, faux brass hardware (gorge!!), and a working ice dispenser in the door of the refrigerator make it a favorite of both the girls' and mine!
The beds, linens and most of the wall decor were carried over from our old house. (You can check out their old bedroom here!) Some new items include the swan, which is from Target's Pillowfort collection, the bunny and bear pillows (an awesome find at Marshall's!), and the cloud wall shelf, which I snagged for half price at Hobby Lobby!
Hope you've enjoyed my first post of the new year! Thanks for stopping by and, as always, happy decorating!
